Glastonbury

A poem in Irish and English by Gabriel Rosenstock

(for Kneecap)

Glastonbury

Legend has it that Jesus himself came here

With Joseph of Arimathea.

Jesus the Carpenter lent a hand to build a church

Of clay and wattles made

Incitement of love was His desire

Necessary work that still continues today

In Glastonbury.

Glastonbury

       (do Kneecap)

Glastonbury

De réir an tseanchais, tháinig Íosa féin anseo

I dteannta Iosáf ó Aramatáia.

Chuidigh Íosa Siúinéir le tógáil séipéil ann

De chré is de chaolach

Spreagadh an ghrá a mhian

Obair riachtanach atá fós ar siúl

In Glastonbury.
